Beechcraft Duchess Aircraft |
|||||||||||||
The American-made Beechcraft Model 76 Duchess is a twin-engine monoplane that’s a serious hit with many private pilotes. The plane features a cantilever lowing design and is constructed entirely out of metal. On the back is a sleek T-tail. The Duchess cuts through he skies powered by a screaming 180 hp Lycoming O-360-A1G6D on the left wing and a LO-360-A1G6D on the right. Those two workhorses keep the rotating constant speed two bladed props spinning like clockwork. The Duchess is designed from the single engine Musketeer. The first Duchess was flown in 1974, and the plane went into regular production in 1977. The Duchess rivals other aircraft of its kind such as the Piper PA-44 Seminole and the Cessna 310. The Model 76 Duchess features rotating engines with turn in opposite directions . The wings utilize a honeycomb construction and are bonded rather than riveted to the fuselage. This reduces cost and makes for a smoother and more aerodynamically efficient surface. Flight schools across the globe have made the Duchess a part of their fleet.
